Women’s Centre Transition Worker/Group Facilitator – HMP Eastwood Park (Female)

Are you passionate about supporting women in a holistic, women centred, trauma-informed way to divert women away from the Criminal Justice System and to achieve long-term lasting change? A new ‘Creating Community Connections’ project is led by a partnership of women’s centre providers - Women in Prison, Nelson Trust, Brighton Women's Centre, Anawim and Together Women. The project aims to connect women in prisons with vital specialist community support services across the country, especially women's centres. You will be the Women’s Centre Link Worker for HMP Eastwood Park, linking women in the prison with their local women’s centres. This role will involve providing advocacy, support, and advice services to women who are currently in HMP Eastwood Park and ensuring they are more aware of and engaged with their local women’s centres. You will work as part of a national team of 10 Women’s Centre Link Workers based within Women’s Prisons across the country, and also build a network of Women’s Centre Champions made up of women serving sentences in HMP Eastwood Park. Within Eastwood Park there is a programme of Psychotherapeutic Groups delivered by the Nelson Trust. These groups are accessible to any woman within the prison no matter where they are from and therefore provide one of many ways to commence some of the transition, advocacy and supportive relationships needed for women to engage with concepts of support, engagement and empowerment that will be available to them in the community upon release. Part of this role will be to deliver some of these groups within the prison as part of the Nelson Trust Programme.
Hours: Full Time 35 hours per week/Part-Time also considered (flexibility to work outside of normal working hours as required)
Holidays: 25 days holiday pa plus statutory
Salary: £20,000 - £24,000 pa dependant on experience
Pension: Auto Enrolment Pension (6% employer contribution)

*This role is Fixed Term for 12 Months*
